The role π‘
Working within the SEO department at Sortlist and under the leadership of the Head of SEO, you will own the SEO strategy for the German market, driving performance and market share in one of our top-priority regions.
This includes optimizing current domains and laying the groundwork for future expansion.
π― As our new SEO Specialist in charge of the German market, you will:
- Identify data-driven SEO opportunities to increase qualified organic traffic and deliver measurable business impact.
- Monitor SEO performance with a strong focus on local intent and SERP features specific to the German market.
- Perform keyword discovery, expansion, clustering, and topical authority mapping based on semantic SEO and E-E-A-T guidelines.
- Conduct on-page analysis and support content localization, UX optimization, and structured data implementation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Tech SEO, content, link building, and paid teams to align on high-impact initiatives.
- Sync with the SEO product manager on new features, experiment designs, and scalable improvements.
- Track AI-related SERP changes, Google Search Generative Experience (SGE), and local ranking volatility.
- Drive SEO experiments and provide actionable insights from A/B testing and user behavior data.
Your Profile π
- 2+ years as an SEO specialist, ideally working on multi-language or international sites.
- Track record of driving results in highly competitive search environments (e.g., legal, finance, SaaS, B2B).
- Strong understanding of search intent, content design, and modern ranking factors.
- Proficient in Web Analytics (GA4, Looker Studio), Search Console, and technical SEO audits.
- Hands-on experience with top SEO tools: Ahrefs, SEMrush, Oncrawl, JetOctopus, Screaming Frog, SurferSEO.
- Experience working on German-language SEO projects is a must; native or fluent German is a major plus.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to report clearly and persuasively with data.
